At the 2023 National VFW Auxiliary Convention, held in Phoenix, AZ, Past Department President Faith Elford and the Department of WI VFW Auxiliary won many awards for all of the hard work that was accomplished during the 2022-2023 Auxiliary year.

 

Among the awards, the Department of WI, led by Past Department President Faith, made the Circle of Excellence for achieving all of the goals set forth by the National Organization.

 

Here are the awards that were won:

 

Veterans & Family Support- Nancy Ustruck, Chairperson	1st Place Outstanding Performance Award:  $200 to Department & a beautiful Keepsake for the Chairperson and a $25 Gift Certificate for Best Promotion to "increase awareness of homeless veterans."
Chief of Staff - Marla Morgan	1st Place Outstanding Performance Award:  $200 to Department & a beautiful Keepsake for the Chairperson.
Hospital - Kathie Lendosky, Chairperson	1st Place Outstanding Performance Award:  $200 to Department & a beautiful Keepsake for the Chairperson.
Youth Activities - Patty Jansky, Chairperson	1st Place Outstanding Performance Award:  $200 to Department & a beautiful Keepsake for the Chairperson and a $25 VFW Store Gift Certificate for Best Promotion of an "Activity by Youth for Youth."
Americanism - Alicia Weix, Chairperson	2nd Place Outstanding Performance Award:  $100 to Department & a Citation to the Dept. Chairperson.
Buddy Poppy/Nat'l Home - Helen Stearns, Chairperson	$25 Gift Certificate - for the most creative promotion of "How the Buddy Poppy & VFW National Home Program makes a difference."
Legislative -  Kim McWilliams, Chairperson	$25 VFW Store Gift Certificate - for the most creative/unique promotion of "the VFW Priority Goals" and the West Bend Post 1393 Auxiliary received a $25 gift certificate & Citation for consistent partner ship with young adult civic and or political groups.
Membership -  Cheryl Woodards, Chairperson	$25 VFW Store Gift Certificate - for the Best membership Recruitment Video.
Mentoring -  Linda Moran, Chairperson	$25 VFW Store Gift Certificate - for best "Mentoring activity or training about how to mentor future leaders for a specific Auxiliary position" and Chippewa Falls Post 1038 Auxiliary received $25 for the most outstanding activity training mentees.
Nat'l Scholarships -  Deanna Carothers, Chairperson	2nd Place Outstanding Performance Award:  $100 to Department & a Citation to the Dept. Chairperson.
Member Awards:	Kathie Lendosky was awarded a $25 VFW Store Gift Certificate thru Extension & Revitalization for nurturing/strengthening a struggling Auxiliary.
	Mary Ellen Crandall of Pewaukee Post 9537 Auxiliary won two Hospital awards.  One Citation for recruiting the most hospital volunteers; and a Citation for the Outstanding Hospital Volunteer of the Year.
	David Zein, VFW Member of Eau Claire Post 305, won an Auxiliary National Membership Achievement Award for recruiting Auxiliary members.
