Membership

The VFW Auxiliary started with a small group of women who wanted to serve veterans. Today, we have nearly 480,000 male and female members and more than 3,500 Auxiliaries representing all 50 states, the Philippines, Panama, Guam, Thailand and France.

Membership in the VFW Auxiliary is an excellent way to show your support of America’s veterans. If you are a member, we encourage you to participate and to ask someone else to join. If you are not a member, we invite you to join us as we work to improve the lives of America’s veterans, service members and their families and communities across this great nation.

Your membership dues support the VFW Auxiliary’s original objectives by supporting the Veterans of Foreign Wars, serving veterans, service members and their families, and spreading patriotism nationwide.

Support Veterans, Service Members and Their Families
The VFW Auxiliary offers numerous avenues for service, such as hospital volunteering, the adoption of military units and promoting patriotism. Anyone with a heart for veterans can count their membership as an important way to stand with veterans and the military community on Capitol Hill and in local legislative battles affecting them.
Develop New Skills
The VFW Auxiliary offers numerous ways for members to acquire and utilize skills such as leadership, public speaking, fundraising, event planning and community outreach.
Network and Develop Friendships
Through local and national events, members have the chance to meet people from all walks of life and many career backgrounds, creating a vast network of people who are passionate about veterans, service members and their families.

The Membership Train represents who we are: a strong, steady, mission‑driven organization built on movement, momentum, and connection. Every member is a passenger with a role to play. Every Auxiliary is a station where people are welcomed, supported, and encouraged to stay involved. And every stop along the way offers new opportunities to grow, reconnect, and strengthen our ability to serve veterans and their families.
