WISCONSIN VETERANS ASSISTANCE

This program consists of the previously known Emergency & Disaster Relief Program and the new Wisconsin Unmet Needs Program.

EMERGENCY & DISASTER RELIEF PROGRAM
This is a Wisconsin VFW program intended to assist Wisconsin VFW and Auxiliary members in good standing who have sustained a residential property loss in excess of $5,000.  The loss may be due to ice storms, hail, sleet, rain, floods, snow storms, wind fallen trees, fire, etc.  Applications are available below, on the WI VFW site (www.vfwwi.org), from Post Commanders and Quartermasters, the VFW Chairman and the Auxiliary Chairman.  Applications must be submitted to the VFW Chairman within 30 days of the occurrence.

WISCONSIN UNMET NEEDS PROGRAM
This is NOT the National Program called Veterans & Family Support.  This program has been in existence since 2015 in the Wisconsin VFW.  Funds are available for household expenses, utilities, food and clothing, medical bills, or other basic life needs.  The Veteran in need does not need to be a VFW member to apply for this assistance.  Applications are available below, on the WI VFW site (www.vfwwi.org), from VFW Headquarters, all County Veterans Service Officers, or from the VFW Chairman.  Completed applications must be sent to the VFW Chairman.  An applicant may submit an application once every three years.
