At the 2023 State Convention in June, our national Representative, National Chaplain Lois Callahan, discussed the various National Bylaw Resolutions being considered at the 2023 National Convention. Among them are two separate proposals to increase the amount of dues forwarded to the National organization for each annual member. (There has been no increase in the per member National dues in more than a decade.) Voting on all National Resolutions will take place in late July in Phoenix. Stay tuned for those results in upcoming communications.
In the meantime, the Department Convention body also discussed an increase to Department dues and a motion to raise Department membership dues from $6 to $10 per annual member, to begin on October 1, 2023, passed in a majority vote.
What does that mean for our Auxiliary members who are annual members? If you are an annual member and pay your dues before October 1, 2023, you will still pay the current $6 rate for this year. If you pay on or after October 1, 2023, you will be required to pay $10 towards Department dues. So in essence, all Wisconsin Auxiliaries should also examine their current dues structure and consider what this change, and any potential National dues change, will mean for them.
Note: The delayed start was included to motivate annual members to pay their dues early. Further, maybe this is an excellent time for those members to consider LIFE MEMBERSHIP. Once again, stay tuned...
